I don't know why but i just realized i don't have a generator.I have been thinking about a small 110v air compressor and am thinking of a small gen to operate it.The honda EU1000 seems to be perfect but now i'm thinking why not go to the EU2000.Another reason for the 2000 is if i decide at a later time i can add another EU2000 and co-phase them.Anything wrong with my thinking ?.

No. Good thinking. Also for plugging your rig into the gen to use the converter to charge your batteries, the H2000 has enough watts to let you do some other things at the same time using AC, but the 1000 does not have enough watts.

Makes sense to me....
Having two would give you more options, for sure! Having the genset for the A/Compressor is a good idea, as the 110VAC units usually have more power (capacity) than the 12VDC.
I'm guessing if you get the 2000, you'll find that you use every bit of it, and will be buying another one not to long after....and the total of 4Kw should be plenty for you needs!

Good Luck!

it takes more generator to start motors than it does to run them, and depending on the compressor, the 1kw Honda may not start it. The 2KW honda does a great job of running my small compressor.

Be sure the air compressor will actually start and run on the generator you are looking at before you pay the money. The starting surge of a compressor will trip the electronic overload sensors of some inverter generators. I can't start my craftsman compressor with my Honda EU3000is.

Everyone thinks its a great idea, and yes it is,but I am only guessing since you didn't mention it, you are doing a lot of dry camping thus the need for a generator ??? Kind of an expensive generator to run a small compressor when dry camping,if that is all you want it for. As you know you can plug the compressor into any 110 outlet when camping in a rv park or at home.

I doubt the 1000 will run the compressor. And if it does run the compressor then the compressor is so small you may as well be 12 volts. Get the 2000 for sure if this is the purpose. Although the combo seems like a lot of money for compressed air.

I use the honda 1000i and it works great the way we use it but the 2000 is the best gen of the two. You can't start most 110 air compressors with the 1000 watt honda if any.

I am shopping for a genset for my small fiver and am leaning toward the Yamaha 2400 instead of the Honda, simply because one will let me run my AC (yes, I checked). And, if I really needed it, someday, two of them can be put together for 4800.

Once you have the H2000, you'll find yourself using it for all kinds of things besides camping. The H2000 or the Yama2400, you can't go wrong with either.
