I am looking for information on camping around the track for the race on 10/19 wondering if you need reservations, or a toad to get around. Any info would be great. Thanks
Our sons went to a Bristol race earlier this year and took their RV. They made reservarions way in advance and the place was packed in like sardines. They had to reserve for 5 or 7 nights, not sure which.
I'd get on the phone asap and make reservations if it isn't already too late.

I dont know the cost, but the terrain is rough. You will definitely need reservations. If you dont have them now, you may not get them. Dont know if the spaces are pre-assigned, but I suspect if you dont get there early - like 2-3 days early for site selection, you might have a tough time leveling.
The walk from the RV sites to the track shouldnt be too bad - certainly far better than parking 1-2 miles from the track on Hwy 220. You wont be able to see anything from the campground on the track.
There are no bad seats in Martinsville. Thats the upside. Having the option to walk to the RV to relax would be a blessing.
To my loving wife:
"I dont love you because I need you. I need you because I love you".
My wife used to give me $1.00/workday for lunch. After a long argument, I won. Now she gives me $5.00 every Monday.
At Martinsville, you can reserve a spot, but you don't have to. The non-reserve area is first come first served. They are several houses around the track that rent out spaces as well. Even with a reserved site, you don't have any room hardly between sites. We camped there last year. It was fun, but we probably wouldn't do it again. We are only an hour from the track anyway. You can walk to everything on the track from the campground. The non reserve section is further away. IF you want to go to any restaurants, you will need a toad.
Enjoy the race!

Camping is first come first served, there are some reserved campsites that you may be able to rent, they are very expensive!!! It will cost you approximately $150 plus or minus a little for the weekend. You can walk from the CG or from the houses around the track that rent out space, if you want to go out to eat at a restaurant you will need a toad. If you want to be assured of a decent camping space you will need to get there Thursday afternooon/evening, may find something on friday but the place fills up fast. We have been going to both spring and fall races for over 15 years now, we try to arrive on wednesday but no later than thursday evening. The track CG is not very level take a lot of leveling materials.
