You live in Atlanta and you're worried about the heat in Maine???
As far as crowd control, go to central or northern Maine and you won't see a person for a hundred miles. Ayeaaa

Average summer temps. are between 75-85 degrees - if you plan on going to the ocean, the beaches are beautiful but you have to be part penquin to go in - bbrrrr its cold

Hello Flintstones:

Just thought I'd let you know we'll be at Normandy Farms for Mother's Day weekend.
We were there a few weeks ago and checked out the indoor pool - very nice.

Eric--
I can answer for Alaskan Mom, my better half...the place by the water's edge is where we stayed some 4 years ago. It was pleasant and affordable. Don't know about the other. And this time, we'll be squattin' on a friends property, but let's both lookout for each other's Jayco Quests, deal?!?! Seeya.

Carolinagirl:
Headed up to N.J. shore for a week and than to Virginia. In Virginia we will be staying for about 10 days at the Kings Dominion C.G. which is adjacent to the amusement park. Prior to that we have a weekend trip up to the Disney area and will spend some time at the parks there.

Just got back from a 2300 mile trip to San Antonio, TX and Albuquerque, NM. We must commend the folks in Texas for their hospitality! Found a free campground in Lamesa, TX that was great. This summer we'll probably take a weekend trip to Santa Fe. Late summer is alway nice in SW Colorado. Local stuff in-between!

Cheers

We have a few trips this summer. First will be to Tuckahoe State Park in MD for a girl scout weekend in June. Then once school is out, we are headed to the Mount Desert Narrows Campground in Bar Harbor, Maine for 7 weeks this summer. On the way to Maine we are staying at Normandy Farms for a couple of nights, we have never stayed there. We hear that Normandy Farms is quite nice.

In aug. we will be taking our first family vacation in our new Kiwi 23B. After leaving Washington State, we plan on seeing certian places like Anntalope Island in Utah, the dino. park in Vernal UT, figured the 10 yr son would get a kick out of that. The rest is up in the air. Then on to Longmount Co. where our oldest son is getting married. We will do a couple of day/sight seeing trips around the area. For the drive home we plan on going north through Wy,Mt,Id & back into Wa. State. I know in WY I would like to see the ghost towns. We wanted to see Yellowstone but we heard they are pretty much booked for the summer. Not knowing when we will be arriving it is hard to make reservations. All in all we plan on being gone 2 wks with most of the time spent just getting to Co. Planned on pretty much screaming back with some sight seeing on the way (have to get back to work. UGH!) But all in all this is going to be a fantastic trip with so much to see and do along the way!
We are open to whatever comes our way. I still have 3 months to plan look and decided what to do. Luckly my Hubby is very easy going. LOL
Happy camping to all.
