I have them in mine (1985). The are so close to the seats in the "house" that they are hard to use. Add to that the step up into the house and the very little room to swivel them and we never swivel them. And if we could easily we would. There are five of us in a non-wide body 27 foot class c without a slide. And, the kids typically have a friend along, making 6 total. Everyone but my daughter is adult sized. It gets cramped, but the front seats just don't work well.

As seen here, our 2007 E350 chassis with a Phoenix Cruiser on it's back has a passenger swivel seat. The driver seat cannot swivel because the steering wheel would get in the way of rotation and reclining....unless the seat had some kind of extension track to get it farther back. But with our floorplan, the dinette wouldn't allow for it. So the passenger seat has the only swivel.

Ron, I was not recalling that Phoenix swivels the cab seat(s). Another PC smart move.

Not so sure about the steering wheel being an issue, look at the Chevy express with swivel seats

In our TL 213, the cab seats are more comfortable than many home recliners, yet they aren't incorporated into the coach floorplan. Cheeze1 is doing a floorplan mod in his 213 that could really open space if he could swivel those seats.

In the Holiday Rambler lineup, the small MH models like the B-Plus, Sport, and Touring are being spiffed up. This is where I think the swivels could really step things up.

On Edit> Although the TL B-Plus below with its double slides is spacious, just imagine if those cab seats would spin around.

Just to be clear, As far as I know, no Phoenix model offers a driver swivel seat. I think because they are scaled down RVs with no room for extra space around the driver seat to do that.

Every PC is built on a Ford E350 or E450 chassis. None are built on GMs. Maybe if they had, there might be more room to swivel the driver seat. Then again, maybe not.

One other thing Phoenix does as do a few other RV makers....they open up the cab area into the living area through cutting open the cab roof. It brings the cab captain chairs to life. Our B+ cap shape also allows for setting the flat panel TV extremely far forward which further adds to the open feel. In scaled down RV's like the PC, that is especially appreciated. The TV is so far forward that the cab passenger can recline a little and watch TV while on the road......yes the can driver too, but whoever is driving, keeps their eyes on the road. One other advantage of that setup is that you can enter and exit the cab area without watching your head so closely.

For the record, the picture was taken when we had just bought the RV. It now has a 26" widescreen flat panel TV in the center area.

Our 75 Ford Class c has swiveling seats on both sides; however, because of a bench behind the driver's seat that one doesn't really move. The passenger side does move and once we set up it swivels and allows more room.

We have swivel cab seats and they become part of our "living room" when we park. Don't know if they're called swivel but they unlock, are turned around and locked again in that position.

The Ford and Chevy cabs (especially the more recent models) seem not to care to use swivels, but the new Mercedes Benz chassis nearly all seem to...is this a carryover influence of the smaller European RVs which need to get max use of limited space?

Reason is economics.

Class C buyers tend to price shop, paying little attention to how much content is left out to keep the price down. Something that adds $300 to the cost, adds to $500 to the price, which will send many buyers off to a brand of model that is just that much cheaper.

That explains a lot! I think it explains why it has taken RV makers sooo long to switch to flat screen TVs, the no-brainer choice.

That's why we ordered ours without a TV. I installed a bigger 26" TV for less money. Installing it was more of a challenge than I thought it would be, but worth it.
