Just me but I am more concerned with my service befroe and during the meal than how fast they take my money. As long as they complete the process timely and accurately I could care less. I find it more rude to be near people talkng on cell phones while I wait in line or or eat.

In regards to reprimand. That should be done in private, not in front of a customer. Period. How would you feel if you made a mistake and were called out inf ront of your peers and reprimanded for it? Add in that sometimes the customer is not always right. I have seen my fair share of customers whom no amount of butt kissing would be made happy. They walked in that way, it wasn't spurred by the empoyee.

I always told the people that I supervised that our competition has a like product at a like price; therefore, there is only one thing that we can offer our customers over our competitors. And that thing is BETTER SERVICE. If we don't do so, the winds of failure will eventually blow us away.

I would have politely informed the manager(even a phone call will suffice)and never returned to his establishment.

I don't know if this was meant tongue-in-cheek or not but I disagree with what I feel is the subtle message implied therein. It was not the fault of the customer that created the poor customer relations but rather the behavior of the employee. Such behavior is just as wrong at a paper and plastic dining establishment as it would be at a place which uses china and linen. One might be less surprised to encounter it at a dine & dash than at a place catering to the hoi polloi but it is no less wrong there.

Here in SC you'd be happy just to get home with something in the bag that even resembled your order. We have some of the most nice and polite idiots you ever want to meet.

Try this. When they answer the phone say "I guess that concludes our transaction to your satisfaction and start to walk out". Bet they get off the phone fast then.

Wish I had the guts to do that....lol Maybe if I handed her/him a card with those words on it!

The one that drives me nuts is going through a drive thru and ordering (from their menu) only to be asked (after they take my money) to wait in the parking lot and they will bring my order out to me. The parking lot is usually so full that that is the reason i used the drive thru.

They have forgotten what the meaning of FAST FOOD is.

My wife gets so mad at me when I say "I have the time to wait right here". I don't really care if their drive thru meets a quota of $17.05 a minute (per window).

Guess I am getting a little cranky as I get older...... Those darn baby boomer's (may be the last generation for a while that has money).

I thought that was a great idea and planned to do it the next time that happened to me. Then I thought that would really tick them off & I really don't want to do that to someone that is preparing or delivering my food. You may end up with something on your patty that you didn't pay for.!

Some of you have way too much time on your hands. Save it for the company that truly rips you off. I have better things to do than to go postal over someone who answers a phone while running a register. For every pet peeve on has, they are probably doing something that is someone elses pet peeve.

What gets me is when you are 4th in a line of 10 people, and another register opens up. And the cashier announces he/she is ready to serve the next in line. And all the people from the back of the line rush over there ahead of you. Once in awhile the cashier will correct the order of the line.

Or people with 15 items get in the 8 items or less line.

Or you get in a short line and the correct price doesn't scan properly. A ten minute price check is needed.

Or somebody doesn't have enough money to pay for their order, and they need to start taking items out of the order.

Or somebody buys a $2.00 item with a credit card or a check.

Or somebody pays with a gift card that does not have enough of a balance. And they argue with the cashier.

Or you pay with a gift card and you find that the card company has assessed unknown service charges, so your $25 gift is only worth $7.00. Or has expired.

Or somebody splits an order. Meaning they have 40 items and want 10 items on one receipt, and the remainder on another receipt. And pay with credit card on one and a check for the other.

Or when in a restaurant, and after a meal you sit there for 30 minutes waiting to have your check delivered to you. Or the check comes in a timely manner, and you wait 30 minutes for your change.

Or your credit card number gets ripped off, and you find your identity stolen. To the tune of $6,000 for porn, video games, and such.

etc...etc...etc...
