Consumers report tested it. You need to read their report before you buy!!!

We bought one for our house and got stuffed it in a closet a month later...
Our new MH had one in it as well. Now we have a pair of those junkers in the closet. The hole in the middle of the two air mattresses made me crazy.

I read the report by consumer reports and agree with it 100% The basic bed is very uncomfortable, you couldn't give me one. My DW and i have a 5000 series with the pillow top and love it.

The most UNCOMFORTABLE mattress I've ever slept on (or tried to sleep on). It came with my MH and I will be chucking it before next season. There really is a center ridge in it.

Best Regards!

I bought the king bed that massages, raises the feet and head, paid almost $6500 for it and I hate the bed. There is no great sleep number if your built like me. For my wife she could sleep on a stone bench and be happy. Save yourself some money and look into the new style sertas.

Wouldn't it throw your back off to be constantly changing the softness/hardness number until you find a comfortable spot? We bought a Natures Rest latex (hypoallergenic - no latex smell) bed that is adjustable for the head and feet plus massage and really love that! Raise the head and feet up at night to watch tv and then lower a bit when sleeping. Especially great for my husband to alleviate heartburn/reflux because we can sleep very comfortably with the head slightly elevated vs. stuffing a bunch of pillows under his head and having them shift around during the night like with our old regular mattress. The mattress comfort always stays the same with the latex version. I recommend the plush model with the pillowtop just cause I like it to feel soft and comfy when I first "land" in bed lol but it doesn't suck you in which I felt the tempurpedic did. Gives great support and comfort for the arthritis in my back. Tried out the sleep number bed when checking out new beds and it does have a center ridge. Just didn't like the feel of it.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. After thinking about it a bit and reading these replies, I think I'd be happier just to have a really good, high quality traditional mattress. I don't think I'd be happy having to figure out what number I want to sleep with all the time. Knowing myself the way I do, having too many choices confuses me and makes me dissatisfied. Besides, I don't want that dang thing in the middle of my bed!

Thanks everyone!

Rhonda, as you know Jane has problems with sleeping and positions... we went to a foam mattress. It really cuddles you and doesn't ahve those pressure points. Much cheaper and no snuggling up in the middle problem. Jane loves it. We have ours in the RV and always talk about rplacing our regualr mattress at home. Her tightwad husband just won't replace a perfectly good mattress.
