While planning our vacation in June. Gettysburg is going to be one of our stops, any suggestions on where to stay. We will be traveling in a 40ft. class a with no children.
Drummer Boy is pretty nice, but expensive. We have a seasonal at DB. Gettysburg Campground is along a creek and pretty nice. Granite Hill is also nice. Lot's of people like Artillery Ridge, but I haven't stayed there or been through visiting.

We arrived Drummer Boy June 20, 2008 and stayed one week. Our camp site was numbered in the 200’s. This is in an area dominated by seasonal sites. Drummer Boy apparently does not mow or maintain the grass around the seasonal sites, since the grass and weeds at our site were a foot deep and loaded with poison ivy. In spite of that, the area was very quiet, since few of the units near us were occupied.
We knew coming in that check would be at 3:00 pm. We had left our last camp as late as possible, but the trip here from the south was only an hour and a half. We stalled at rest stops, but eventually pulled into DB at 2:35pm. I parked our 38’ motor home and toad in front of the office and went in. The clerk said I could not check-in until 3:00. I said that’s OK, I’ll just stay parked out side. She gave me a funny look, so I added that no one else could check-in either… It was then that she checked with the office and determined our site was vacant and we could check in 25 min. early. By the time I got registered it was 2:55 and there were four or five units double parked along the road and waiting to register.
There is a lot of golf cart usage at this park. Rules require an adult to operate a golf cart, but teens and pre-teens were frequently seen using them. One of our neighbors, in a seasonal site, would sit outside and yell at the kids going by, but they just ignored him. To each his own, I guess.
By the way, when I made this reservation back in February, they charged my Credit Card for the entire amount: 7 days, $350.00. Also, we do not swim but I understand it is their policy to charge extra for access to the pool area. (I believe they were building a new pool and water slide out near the highway).
Next time we will stay elsewhere.
Good luck and happy camping.
I started with nothing... and have most of it left.

I believe the pool is not an extra charge at DB, but the slide in the back pool costs something. Pools are too small now for the size of the campground.
Golf carts are a little out of hand. I agree with admiral0647, some of the adults driving seem to be a little on the young side.
They seem to fill up (at least the full hook-up sites) most weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day, so I guess if people are willing to pay, it's not too much money yet.
I'll put in a plug for the KOA. Beautiful place, very clean, out in the country so little road noise. Sites are fairly spacious for a KOA. The entire CG surface is large gravel, so you won't have a lot of kids riding bikes or skateboarding through the CG. Or golf carts either. Lots of shade.
