I have found quite a few new 2008 Jayco Eagle 304bhds travel trailers for sale on the internet. My question is what extra percentage of discount should I expect to get for buying a 08 instead of a 09? I dont care if is a non current model because I will be keeping it for a long time.

We bought ours last year and it was the last 08' on the lot. We received 40% off MSRP and the dealer included the hitch. So I am guessing we paid fair market value for a new 08 Jayco Eagle. Some will disagree and say we were robbed, etc.., but we were happy with the deal and love the FW. I know you are considering a TT, but prices are not that different between the Eagle TT and FW at least here in TX because we looked at both.

Although new, in reality you're talking about a nearly 2 year old unit since the 2010s have been out for awhile. Make an offer that's at least 40% off MSRP.

assuming that no drastic changes were made, improvements, in the 09s, and you will be holding onto it for a long time, just use the extra year old as a bargaining chip to get best price. I wouldn't worry myself if it was 5% or 20% less, if it is what you want and cheaper than an 09.

The trouble is that MSRP is pretty much a fictional number - produced by the dealership. Almost always. 20% - 40% depending on the MSRP. I have seen the MSRP on my trailer vary as mush as 20%. Now that's a bunch!

The research I've done indicated that 20-30% off a new rig is reasonable - gives the dealer some profit and saves the buyer some money.

Good luck & Happy Travels!

There's a nice new '08 Jayco Eagle 5er on eBay for $25k buy-it-now right now. I suggest using eBay to plumb the lowest prices on these things. It is an incredible buyer's market with RV sales down at ridiculous levels. It's sad for the dealers, but good for you.

We bought our Jayco Eagle at 33% off of MSRP.
That included a lot of options from Jayco.

Good luck,
