Has anybody taken this route south from Glacier down to Grand Canyon? Was wondering what it is like in general. We are trying to stay off interstates to see more of the country.
Thanks!

We always take 93 from Panaca, NV to Twin Falls, ID when we go north. Drove this stretch last September. Good road conditions. It has been at least 10 years since we drove further north on 93, so cannot comment further.

IMHO this is one of the great "blue highways" in the country if you have the time. You have a pretty good climb/drop over Lost Trail pass at the MT/ID border. Wagonhammer RV park in North Fork is small but nice. The eye candy is special most of the way. If you do this, might consider diverting to ID 75 south of Challis (stay at Challis Hot Springs RV park)and going over (another climb) Galena Pass and thru Sun Valley, picking up 93 again at Twin Falls. OR, stay on 93 at Challis and check out Craters of the Moon. Ah, options. The trip will be slow and easy with your rig as you will twist along the Salmon River thru central Idaho and do a bit of climbing before and after, but well worth your patience. And, if there are RV parks along the way (which there are) RVs must frequent the route. Right? Feel free to PM me if you have questions. I've been from British Columbia to Arizona on 93 at one time or another.

We did US93 from Twin Falls to south of Ely a couple of years ago.
It's a good two lane road with miles of no civilization between settlements.
I recommend a detour to Great Basin National Park. There is a nice campground there with no hookups, but paved pull through sites. There is a nice cave you can tour and you can drive up to 10,000 foot level to hike up to bristlecone pines 3-4,000 years old and also see the only glacier in the great basin.
We just drove part of this road last week (normally wouldn't recommend it in the winter, but we had been watching the weather/road reports and knew we were safe. We went from Las Vegas to Arco, Idaho, mostly on 93 (we take the state road #318 which cuts off near Ash Springs, NV to south of Ely). The road between Twin Falls and Craters of the Moon is a wee bit rough, but the rest of it is in good shape. If you are in a hurry, I wouldn't recommend the cut-off in Idaho to rt 75 thru Sun Valley (as previously recommended)--that is pretty slow with lots of traffic in the summer. We frequently travel 93 from Salmon to Missoula and it is a good road and very scenic. Lots of RV traffic on many sections of this road. Another good spot to overnight is Cactus Pete's Casino RV park in Jackpot, NV--just south of the Idaho/Nevada border.
Thanks for all the great road info, sounds like it will be a real adventure from Glacier down to the Grand Canyon. T-97 day till retirement, but who's counting!
