Local dealer told me the 2010 Pilot can be towed. Did not see it in writing.

If the 2010 Pilot IS towable, I'd love to know about it. It would mark a huge change in Honda policy. They haven't approved towing Pilots since 2005.
If I were buying that type of vehicle now, I would buy either the Buick Enclave/Chevy Traverse/Saturn Outlook(good deals probable now thatSaturn is going away), or GMC Acadia. These vehicles are all approved for towing, are 7 or 8 passenger capable, and have gotten excellent reviews.
If 5 passenger works for you, Chevy Equinox and Cadillac SRX are towable for 2010 and are highly rated. (I drove the Caddy and it is a winner.
Those who dislike American cars should reconsider. GM has gotten it right with the above vehicles. Totally different than the******that came out of Detroit a decade or even a few years ago. And why not save a job for a fellow American or two or three?

I just purchased 2010 Odysessy and I have the same question. I understand the transmisson has not changed in years. I get my base plated on next week. One odysessy custowmer tows all 4 down and uses the CRV procedures for towing. Going thru a 3 minute transmission warmup and going from drive to neutral. And running thru the gears every 300 miles. I had a CRV 05 and towed for over 40000 miles and no problem. Remco says no reported problems.
I also understand that Honda does not want to go thru the testing procedures each year for the Pilot and the Odysessy. Hummmmmmmmm

I just bought a new 2009 Odyssey and plan to tow it using the CRV procedures, too-- apparently, there are a few of us willing to roll the dice. I'll have Cliff's Welding in Mesa install the base plate and wiring, probably after the first of the year.
BTW, I see you're in Casa Grande-- be sure to come out to the airport next week (starts Thursday, 10/22, goes through Saturday) for the Copperstate Fly-in. Lots of great classic and homebuilt airplanes to see, and rides available in a T-34, an SNJ, a Ford Tri-Motor, and a helicopter. Nice folks, too.
If you go out there, you'll likely see an orange Mini Cooper convertible running around the ramp-- that'll be me!

2004 was the last model year approved by Honda, the 2005 isn't even though some owners manuals say it is. Honda says the manuals were printed before they tested the unit for towing, when they did they "found something they didn't like" so they rescinded the recreational towing approval.

Ask the woman I sold my tow dolly to after she burned up her 06 Civic tranny on its first tow. If it is not in the manual don't do it unless you can afford a new tranny! Demco isn't always correct and the manufacturers want you to buy their stuff, but they also want it to last so if they say no to flat towing then caveat emptor to those that do!
Motorhome Magazine publishes a yearly list of which vehicles can be towed flat check out their web site. I hate to see folks destory their trannies on bad info. If the manufacturer says no then they mean it.
