Hi everyone: Can someone please tell me why I can not get all the cable channels listed in a park? My TV is eight years old (the problem?)and when we hook to cable, we only get to channel 21. We can punch in 25, 66 etc but no reception. To day we are at a park that lists 2 through 49, but ours shuts off at 22. How come?

Thanks, MJM

Be sure your TV is set to Cable and not Over the Air or Antenna. There should be a menu or something on the TV that allows you to make the selection.

Go into the menu on your tv and select cable not air or antenna and make sure to turn off the antenna preamp on your antenna wall plate (green LED off, there is a push switch next to the LED).

Ditto the two posts above and only add that you need to do a autoscan (in the menu selection)to update the channels available.

It is the Exchange Rate. You get 80% of US channels on a Canadian TV.

If running auto tune doesn't work, be aware that at some RV parks the cable companies use a decoding scheme that requires the TV to be set to accommodate it.
There are four modes out there - TV, STD, HRC, IRC.
STD, HRC, IRC are the cable decoding modes.

If you are in a park where you can't get higher channels and they are supposed to be there, try going into your TV setup menu and selecting another decode scheme.

TY, that gave me a good laugh. I shall try the other suggestions. I turned on and off that little light, that just goes from over the air to cable. I will look into programing in the next stop. No cable here!!

If they are like our cable here at home then there channels may have gone digital. If we don't have the digital box here then all we get is up through 21.
