I usually stay at the campground on Lejeune but you do have to be active or retired. Have also stayed at the Wilmington KOA not too far away. and Emerald Isle not far but expensive. There is a couple of campgrounds on Topsail Island but I haven't stayed there. Good Luck.

We have stayed at Cabin Creek 3 times in the past 6 years. It is about as close as you can get. It is good for the area and close to everything. Suggest you call for reservations however. By the way, not ex, just a No Load! No longer on active duty!!! Semper Fi

oooooooh raaaah and semper fi from one marine to another.. took a trip 2 years ago to the outer banks and emerald isle. stayed at a really nice campground on emerald isle, about 30 from the base. go north of the base and over the bridge to emerald isle and its right on the beach, can't remember the name of it but it was conveniently located just off the main road. got a visitors pass at the front gate and was able to see my old stomping grounds from 1986, should be easy to find it on the internet. have a good trip and semper fi

I stayed at Holiday TRAVL Park in 99, when I went back to visit Lejeune. Right on the beach, and secure access (keypads and gated.). But as with all beach sites, there was not much room between units. But it was well kept up.
Don't know of anything else closeby, unless down near surf city, florence or southerly.
you will find that alot has changed at lejeune, including the road directions. Everything grew up in the past 29 years.
