Currently I own a McKenzie Lakota 35 ft. I am considering selling and going shorter. I have looked at the Heartland Eagle Ridge Model 29SBRL and the Keystone Cougar Mountaineer. Both have very similar shorter units that we like the floorplan. Does anyone have any experience with either of these units. I am interested in quality and customer service from factory if necessary.

In laws have a Cougar and like it. But, bought it used and out of warranty. Their real criteria was a rear kitchen cause the SIL likes to cook and bake.

They also have an F250 diesel (2007), but, no mods at all.

Eagle Ridge all the way! Heartland is one of a very few companies that are making it, and if you do a comparison...It blows away Cougar! Heartland is just on fire now. Better service to.

I looked at an eagle ridge and it's a fancied up mid profile coach not bad but not spectacular. Keystone has been in business for awhile, Heartland not as long but it doesn't look like the grew too big too fast like so many out of business

I had a Cougar and now have a Heartland Bighorn. The cougar was an OK 5ver and I can't speak for the Eagle Ridge, but I can tell you that the best companies for after the sale are Heartland and Jayco. So if you have narrowed it down to Cougar or Eagle Ridge, I would go with Eagle Ridge. Many will tell you that Keystone is a top seller, well if you do your home work you will find that they are the Largest RV manufacturere and there for build more units, however the other side of the issue is, Both Heartland and Jayco sales have increased every year for the past 3 or 4 years while Keystone sales are declining at the same time. Why is that? Give it some though and you should be able to figure that out for yourself.

My 2 cents worth, Good Luck
