I just wanted to get peoples opinions on this,I was told by Chuck S. that these dometic refridgerators are made to use with lp while driving then you can go on electric when you get to the CG.I had always heard that is a bad idea, but I sure would like to know for sure, it would make things alot easier having everything stay cold for the trip. Thanks

Leave the fridge turned to AUTO. While driving it will use propane then when you hook up it will switch over to electric.

We do it all the time - otherwise your food will spoil. As stated - put the fridge on Auto - it will switch back and forth as required.
There have been a number of threads about turning off the gas when you refuel. Look them up and draw your own conclusions - no need to get that thread started again,

When I turn mine on to (auto) LP just before I leave, it doesn't come off until I return home. There are/will be those that say "turn it off when refueling" and I have yet to see any fires from not doing so. Mine is on the right side and my truck refuels on the left side so I don't worry about it. JMHO and my flame suit is on. Nows the can of worms has been really opened.

Yes we drive with the fridge running on propane. Just remember when you get gas in your tow vehichle that you may have a flame running near the pump.

I agree 100%.

I never shut off my fridge while fueling.

Diesl fuel isn`t flammable like gasoline is.

I usually turn the fridge on 24 hours before we leave. Then the only hitch is to remember to turn on the gas at the same time. After spoiling food twice I now have a checklist.

I run on auto, however, a couple of frozen plastic bottles usually keep everything cold. I have traveled up to 13 hours this way.
