I have no problem filling my 2006 w/ the 55 gallon tank to full and usually can only add less than 1 gallon when the gas nozzle at the station clicks off the first time.

But I have visually checked the fuel fill hose and the vent hose from the tank back to the fuel fill inlet and there are not "kinks", twists or excessive bends.

FIY, crawling under the MH and reading the label on the Gas Tank says that the actual volume is 58 gallons with 55 gallons being full with a airpocket for the other 3 gallons.

If you are having problems with the fuel stations gas nozzle clicking off to early then you are having a venting problem and or kink in the main fuel inlet hose.

Another possibility is that the gas tank is not sitting level (either in attachment or MH on level ground)

I use a scanguage to double check fillups etc. and I am surprised at how close to accurate the factory gauge is (1/4, 1/2, 3/4 tank readings). From all of the other vehicles I have ever owned this one is the most accurate

I have same problem, and have had since new, with my 2008 coach/2007 Ford V-10. Can tell when fuel gauge comes off peg after 30 to 60 miles, if tank was full will go about 90 miles before fuel gauge moves. Fred

I found out if i find a station that is slightly angled down to the front of the motorhome it fills ok but if level or slightly up hill have all the same problems as the rest of you. On the longer motorhomes the tank is farther from the fill hole and that creates a problem also, espically when it starts to get full but needs that last 6 to eight gallons, a real pain and have had people behind me wondering what the ***##* i was doing. I'm really glad I posted this problem, some good information so far and I appreciate the help. I'll crawl underneath and check vent hose, etc but I think it has more to do with the level of the gas station than anything else. Some stations I go to, I can fill with no problem. Some others it shuts off probably 6-8 gallons too soon. Thanks for the help so far.

we could always place our leveling ramps under the rear wheels at the gas station to angle the tank/fill inlet :-)

Had this problem with this and our last motorhome.
How I fixed on both was to:
1. Make sure that the vent line is not kinked or that there isn't a low spot in it. If there is a low spot and it has gas in it, it acts like a trap and the tank doesn't vent correctly.
2. I made sure that tha vent line is ABOVE the filler hose. I did that by using wire ties (not real tight!) to hold it to the top of the fill hose.

Tha solved the problem both times I ran into it.

Hope that it works for you.
