I would look for one with full graphics. this is a tip off that it was a regular RV not a spec built Fema rig. not foolproof but a good indicator. I would stay away from the gulfstream Cavaliers as they seem to be the worst although they had the biggest contract so that's probably why
FWIW because of the formaldehyde issue (warranted or not) they have to be sold as scrap.
I would strongly suggest you visit the auction site before bidding. I wouldn't worry too much about brand but more about the condition and specific options you may be looking for in a TT. These trailers are in numerous lengths and configurations. Some are practically brand new and others are not worth hooking the truck to. Most of the trailers are the EXACT thing you would find on any dealer lot (some will still have the dealer sticker) completely self contained units and others like the Cavaliers are not self contained (no holding tanks and residential type appliances). I purchased one two years ago and absolutely love it. However, I did visit the auction site and picked several to bid on after close inspection. The biggest issue I saw was most of the trailers were missing something. Could be just the keys or could be something like the water heater has been tampered with. Just my suspicion but I think the staff and the viewing public have helped themselves to certain spare parts because it seemed allot of trailers were this way. If the trailer was used I don't think the resident needed all the light bulbs or cabinet knobs for example. Anyway..This is an excellent way to get a great price on a practically new TT. Good Luck !
I can only imagine how happy struggling RV dealers are to find out that there are acres and acres of trailers, some never used, being dumped on the market. The timing is just wonderful--not!

You may want to look into how you are going to license a travel trailer that has been sold as scrap. I'm not sure how a state would look at a travel trailer like that. Also, what about insurance?? Will your insurance company cover you on a trailer that is scrap?
They may be good deals, but without license and insurance, they become really large lawn ornaments...
