When using on board water in my 2004 Fleetwood Prowler 24BH, the temperature fluctuates at all faucets hot/cold as the water pump cycles on and off.
Also the kitchen sink faucet sputters air when turned on initialy. I suspect this is because of an air leak in the faucet area but the water temp fluctuation has me baffled.

when the faucet sputters it just air in the lines, keep running and it should clear. The temp, if it just for a minute is just the difference in temp between the tank and the lines, if your run it for a few min does it get warm?

Water never actually gets hot. Stays lukewarm in gas or electric mode. I have been advised there is a water heater bypass valve that is probably left open and needs to be closed. I'll have to look for it next time I'm down at the farm.

The water temperature would go hot/cold /hot/cold etc... as you hear the water pump cycle on and off. Weird.

Sounds like the hot water heater bypass valve is open.

Two likely things… the bypass as already said or if it happens in sync with the pump it might be a faulty check valve in the HWT outlet stuck in the open position…

I just installed a new pump and it does the same thing. I'll try the above suggestions.
Thanks

Pulled the panel inside covering the water heater and there were two valves. I turned one to open and the problem was corrected.
I think the water heater had been winterized and the valve was never repositioned in the spring.
