Can anyone tell me what you know about the quality of these trailers. I own a fleetwood taos and im looking to upgrade to something bigger with a toilet and shower unit. Ive been looking around a lot and found these trailers to be around $3000 cheaper then names like Jayco ans Starcraft and Fleetwood and Rockwood for the same size and options as the bigger names! A little conserned. If you have a little insight on this please help. Thanks for your time. Kyle

I've had one since last November and now my son who lives in VA has it. It was an 06 1270ST Coachmen clipper Classic. GVW of 3500#. The one I just gave the son had a furnace, 3-way fridge, hot water heater,
AC, ceiling vent fan, three burner stove and a shower. It had two king size beds. I thought that it was put together quite well. Everything worked and the fit and trim were great. I liked the 4 jacks that it had to stabilize it and the Jeep Liberty with the tow package did a great job of towing it through the mountains of NC,SC, TN and VA. I guess it depends on what the asking price is. The one I had looked brand new, Iguess it was used, but it basically looked like a new unit. It also has a 12' awning. I could recommend it, I thought it was a very nice pup.
On Edit: If I'm not mistaken, Coachmen is now owned by Forest River if that may help you out in any way.

The coachmen that I talked about earlier was quite "roomy". My son and DIL have a 7 yr old and 18 month old boy's and there was more than enough room for all of them AND their dog. As far as quality, I've owned Jayco, Cox, Coachmen and Fleetwood pop-ups over the years and other than more amenties in some and not in others, they all seemed to have worked well for us. I guess it depends on how much you want to put into one. What are they asking for the 06'Coachmen, if you don't mind me asking? If it's a great deal, than it may be well worth it than spending $3,000 more on one that, evidently, you don't see that much difference in.

Sounds identical to the one I had, except mine just had the shower on the inside. I paid $7,000 for it back in November of 08. Again, it looked brand new, the people that owned it kept it in a garage and if they did any camping in it, I couldn't tell it. $7500 might not be bad in Canada, I'd offer them $6500 and work from there.

I bought my trailer new and this is the third season using it. I find the build quality to be good. Not a huge difference from Fleetwood or Jayco (I think). No major repairs up to now. Maybe a screw coming loose here or there.
