hello my rv friends, I would first of all like to thank ALL of you who wrote in and gave your thoughts of my problem. (see previous post on the subject by me) I really do appreciate everything and will put it all to good use. The deposit was paid by credit card and it has been over a month. I have contacted the credit card company and as of yesterday 7-2 no information for refund from that delership has been sent to them. The dealership on the other hand has told me they sent it for procesing over 3 weeks ago HUM.. I shall try and be a little more paitient, and keep after the dealership and see where it gets me. I have been in the customer service buisness for over 30 years, and my customers are priority, It is upsetting to me when the same is not returned. On a more lighter note, instead of negative advertising for this dealership on my truck, a freind of mine has contacts with banner advertising with an airplaine, I would really like to see their faces with that flying around the dealership I shall keep you all posted, and thank you ALL again for your input.

Don't know your exact details but we placed a $500 deposit with an RV dealer on our Mastercard for a TT we wanted to purchase many many years ago. The dealer then failed on 3 seperate attempts over a 3 week period of time to have the TT ready for PDI and delivery. On the 3rd failed attempt to take delivery, we walked away from the deal, called Mastercard and told them the circumstances, that the dealer failed to deliver the item, and that we cancelled the purchase. Mastercard refunded our deposit, then I assume went after the dealership to get their $500 back. In the meantime, we went shopping for another TT and eventually purchased one a few months later from naturally another dealer. Good luck.

Happy camping!!! See ya'll down the road!!!

Considering the time element, I would suggest immediately putting pressure on the credit card company for a refund. The CC company will send the dealer a questionnaire as to the transaction. Unless the business can prove to the CC company the charge is still valid it will be reversed and the dealership charged back.

As mentioned above there are a great number of dealerships in financial trouble so the time element is very important. This past year there have been a large number of customers who lost promised money due to a dealer filing chapter 11.

as a rule it takes approximately 3 t0 4 weeks to see a refund show up in your acct. after the refund is put in, so try to be patient, I hope this helps ease your mind

Ask the dealer for a copy of the transaction receipt. Every refund I have ever had generated a receipt for the transaction. It didn't matter if I paid cash and got cash back, or paid by check and had to wait for the check to clear before they would give a refund (or just got the check back), or paid by card and the funds were returned to the account, there was ALWAYS paperwork generated.
The dealers books show that deposit paid, there HAS to be something to show what became of it!
Get the receipt!

I have to agree with you on this.
Walking in the dealership IN PERSON and demanding to see this so-called "I processed it" piece of paper is the way to go. Calling them is not the answer to your problem.

And me.....I'd also be there every morning when they opened until it was refunded, and while waiting to be seen and I would be telling every customer that walked in just what my problem with the dealership was.
