I'm in MB right now and I lost my awning when that wind came up as did about 20 othes. When the wind hit I tried to go out and secure it but the wind was so strong I couldn't get thr door open. The wind was over and gone as quickly as it started. Ot knocked down a big tree and did other damage too. We are at Willow Tree.

Tie downs and deflappers may help but if the wind is strong enough something is going to give. Two years ago we were caught in a thunderstorm. I rushed to get my awning stored. My neighbor watched me get mine in but was confident that his tie down and deflappers would be good enough. Then the wind hit. Trees down, trash cans flying, etc. His tie downs worked fine unfortunately the awning ripped right out of the side of his trailer. The trailer suffered considerable damage and the awning was destroyed.

Welcome to Myrtle Beach,I wintered there for the last 2 winters and never put out my awning because of the wind. We saw a lot of awnings leave their campers.

Had similar situation there last year, but my awning held just fine, while several others around me just ripped right off.

Mine is leaking now in a couple of spots where it secures to the top of the camper. I guess all that flapping around pulled it loose.

Any suggestions on fixing that?

Thanks

Jamie
