LOL And this question from someone who is often stating that you "special ordered" this or that AND invested in a "Banks" system?

I agree about the "armchair appraisals". Go out to FIND these recorded "buys" that support the NADA figures - there are no deals in the NADA price range. The number of used DP's and better Class A's for sale had fallen - there are few for sale on dealers' lots. This new scarcity - added the the demand of new retirees and aging buyers - will probably INCREASE prices over the coming months.

Oh, I'm not suggesting paying full retail for a coach that looks nice. Merely saying I wouldn't let a cream-puff pass based on the "expert" advice found here to pay not a dime more than 20-30+% below wholesale. Poor economy or not, I don't know anyone who is going to give their well cared-for coach away. Personally, I'd be leery of someone willing to discount the unit well below bottom wholesale - in my mind, there must be some reason for such desperation, hope for the purchaser's sake it's financial and not mechanical.

Just my take, opinions obviously vary.

Great reviews and I really appreciate it. I saw the unit today and it is immaculate. Has all the options available for that model that year. All the 6 volt batteries are new and so are the tires. It has the aluminum rims cold climate package thermal pane windows and the list goes on. If he doesn't buy it i will. Thanks again all who contributed- Denny

Your friend may want to negociate on the price a little but the Monaco Diplomat is a rock solid quality coach.

I have a 36 foot 99 Diplomat that I purchased 2 years ago. This is my 3rd motor home and my 1st diesel. I always tow a Susuki Vitara. I travel at 60 to 65 and have 9.35 mpg for 15000 miles. The Diplomat drives like a dream and very comfortable to live in. We have the washer/dryer and the wife uses only the washer as tghe dryer is very, very slow. I have had only one problem and that was with the pac brake being frozen open. I have finally repaired that. You will love tghe Diplomat.

I bought a 2002 Diplomat 2 years ago 76K. I've put over 20,000 miles on it. Had some problems mostly due to neglect by the previous owner. Roof separation, leak over entry door, leak in bathroom, leak / mold behind the bedroom draws in the rear driver side by the air intake. Inspect everything, open everything. It's a quality coach, even better if the previous owner cared about it. If it has the 27" TV in the front, watch your head, it hurts.
Good luck I'm sure you'll love it.
