I took the motor off the top and used a spray can of lithium grease and then exercised the jack.

There is a very detailed article on here somewhere with lots of pictures. I used it to disassemble mine and it was not that diffficult at all. You just need some circlip pliers and a little patience and grease.

I just did all four of my jacks using this how-to by kkeller14k...

It wasn't too bad of a job.

KKELLER14K,

It went great and I'd like to personally say Thanks for that post and all of the super photos that you provided and the effort that you put into it. The only thing that you either didn't mention or didn't show was a different removal procedure of the plastic push pin and motor gear release lever.

I discovered, after breaking the first push pin, that there are two small slots in the internal plastic elec. motor/disconnect mechanism that allow you to to insert a thin-bladed screwdriver to pop out the pin and lever versus prying them out from the outside of the jack tube...it works pretty slick.
Those small slots, I believe, are shown in one of your pics (8th pic down from the top of your original how-to post titled "Remove the lever and pin...") and they may appear to look like lube ports but I gotta believe the factory designed them to allow for removal of the pins.

I would post pics but I'm still not in to the 21st century regarding posting pics yet.......I have to try doing that.

Again thanks for the great thread on this as I'm still waiting for parts from HJ, (new gear set and push pin) I'll post about that experience when I get the parts......
