I was telling my wife about your spaghetti salad and she said it sounded like the linguine salad she has been making for years. It is except for the type of pasta. She also adds some McCormick Salad Supreme. I wouldn't be concerned about dealing with leftovers because I doubt there will be any.

I bet we've made this a hundred times and always used different ingredients... kind of like Bubba and his shrimp on Forrest Gump, you can make it a bazillion ways. Wait, there's another idea, some cold shirmp in speghetti salad - mmmmmm....

Taco Salad kinda like the Taco bar. Cook up the meat and put over tortlla chips, and let everyone add the extras. Sour cream, cut up tomato, shredded lettuce, sliced green onions, black beans, shredded cheese and any thing else you can think of.

Serve brownins and ice cream for dessert.

We will do what is often called "cream can" supper. Only we use a gas turkey cooker that you deep fat fry turkeys in.

On the bottom around the edges of the pan you put corn on the cob standing up, then you put in side the corn carrots, potatoes, cabbage, onions and any other veggie you want in there.

On the top you put numerous bologna or cabasa to cook. You put in 8 beers and top off with water and let it cook for an hour to hour and half.

When done you dump it out on a table that has been covered with tin foil and people serve themself.

One can will feed about 10 people so you may need a couple turkey cookers going.

sounds like a clam boil without the clams!
My sister used to make a portugese style boil with the same ingredients you mention, but with chorico, red hot dogs, clams, and sometimes lobsters on the top.

I really like chili cooked in a DO with a layer of cornbread baked over the top. One time I used ground beef, stew beef, italian sausage, and diced kielbasa to give it a twist. I made it for a church campout pot luck.

For a cold dish, a refreshing tabouleh salad is always welcome. The packages for the wheat are in the salad section of the supermarket.

Easy to make, refreshing on a hot day and good nutrition.

The addition of an animal protein (ham, sliced boiled eggs, cheese, etc.) can make this a complete meal to carry in a fun lettuce leaf 'wrap'.

We've done a "Stone Soup" where everyone in the group contributes one item for the pot. More people, equals more yummy stuff in the soup. Oh, and dont forget to tell the story. Serve with crusty french bread or rolls and a salad.
