My Furd has the aluminum wheels which can’t be rotated between the front and rear axles. Anyone else have these? I thinking about having the 4 tires on the aluminum wheels dismounted and remounted so I can rotate them front to back. At 27,000 miles, I’m starting to get a little strange wear on the front tires. Do you dually folks rotate your tires?

I don't rotate the tires on my dually.
That way, the tires mounted on the rear axle are always as close as possible to the same size, so the larger diameter tire isn't carrying more load than its neighbor.
It works for me.

I rotate mine but not a traditional rotate. I don't rotate front to rears. I just change the front left to the right front and right front to the left front. On the rear both tires from the left side go on the right side and both right rears go to the left rear. That is all I have done on my Ford duallys for a number of years.

I don't rotate mine. What kind of wear problem are you seeing? My truck has always worn the outside edge off the front passenger-side tire faster than the drivers side. I take it for an alignment, they put it in spec's, and it still seems to wear the outside edge off. I just leave the fronts on the front, and replace them when they need it.

I take mine in to be rotated and they have to mount/remount - ummmm....I think two of them each time (I also have 4 aluminum wheels.) So that adds up in cost but it's the 'proper' way to do it from what I understand. Now granted that comes from my dealer and all the tire people I've talked to, so maybe they are all just encouraging spending money, but that's what I do.
The OEM tires (goodyear G124's) were worn funny, with heel-toe sort of wear. I was told that with more agressive off-road tires, heavily loaded will always do that, especially with the fronts, so by rotating front to rear that should spread that wear out more. I had about 34K on my original tires when I bought the truck, and it vibrated the front end a LOT from the badly worn front tires....so far my MIchellins seem to be doing a lot better than that - I think I have about 13K on them and have rotated them once. About to do it again.
Good luck, I'll be curious to see what others thingk - this is my first dually as well.

My truck has never had the tires rotated on it. The last set of XPS Ribs lasted 70,000 miles. The fronts were worn a tiny bit more on the outside, but not by much.

I just have the front tire switched side to side and I leave the rear alone, I went thru 2 sets of fronts before I changed the rears, it was cheaper to replace the tires than to pay to mount, dismount and rebalance the tires

Brad,
Here is from the Ford Owners Guide for 2006.
Ford's Guide
Then select the your vehicle year and type, once you get there select the section for Owners Guide (5th from the top on left side). Then go to page 145 of the PDF file. Just a warning that it will not let you return to this page with the back buttons or at least it didn't for me.

Thanks. Acording to that, I should just rotate the front tires side to side.
