Coming from an '02 7.3, I don't consider the 7.3 "far better" than my 6.4. Nice try though.

You know how us 7.3 guys are thinking we got the best engine ever built, but yes thats a stretch even comparing the 6.0 to the 6.4. The 6.4 is not even close to having the bad knocks the 6.0 got. Time will tell on the 6.4 how it does compared to the 7.3

I would imagine that the total number of parts in the 6.4 dwarfs the 7.3. Due to that alone, I would say the 7.3 would prove more reliable. Look at the old school 5.9 Cummins to the 6.7, as the parts counts (and HP) increased the reliability decreased.
To the OP, see if you can get an OASIS report on the VIN. That should tell you something provided it wasn't maintained and repaired outside of a Ford dealership. My major concern with that vehicle would be the transmission as most of the other powertrain components are easily repaired or replaced.
We have the same unit but 2 wheel drive & have had it since new. We still love it as much as new when rolling down the road to another Rving experience!!! Good luck on your purchase whatever...

If you re-read the post carefully rather than jumping to contusions, the reference was a 2003 F250 with 7.3L Diesel engine vs the 2003 F250 with the 6.0L Diesel engine ONLY. The early 6.0L engines, especially the 2003 versions had the most problems. 2003 was the only model year that both engines were available. Those early 2003 6.0L engine based truck values are heavily and negatively impacted by those extraordinary amount of problems.
Not acccording to Auto Trader online. The asking prices are in the same range. Per Auto trader online with the same mileage they are in the same price and not $8,000 difference that you stated in a prior post and this is from dealers not private sellers. I did the search on 2003 F250 and any distance. Take a look for your self and check it out as I sure don't see any $8,000 difference in price. What are you basing your comment on?
