Steve, I have the 12’ with a 6hp Nissan 4 stroke and a trolling motor for the front and carried it a couple times under a TT using the factory brackets and it worked great.

I agree with Mod on setup time with my wife helping, but it can be a pain doing it by myself. Overall I’d rate it as excellent when towing something isn’t possible but will say I much prefer the jon boats I’ve had.

If I could do it over I think I’d prefer a shorter model.

About a month ago, I saw two people in a Porta Boat out in San Francisco Bay. It looked to be about 12' and had a small outboard motor.

The big plus of the porta boat is folding it to less than 6inches thick. Makes it very easy to carry around.

Well, got my boat!
Nice little 8' lapstrake fiberglass and a 2hp Yamaha outboard.
The boat fits in the bed of the truck and the motor inside the boat.
also came with oars and locks.
As soon as I get the CF numbers on the side, I'm off to the local harbors.

Juuust sit right back and you'll hear the tale, the tale of a fateful trip, that started from .....................

2 hp will give you about 7 mph top speed. On a day without big wake and north wind you can launch it at Pier 39, go to Alcatraz, see the north side of it and land in Marin County.
Don't try to force it against the wind.

Thanks. I wish I was in the Bay Area to do this.
I'll have to settle for the harbor around my Ventura/Oxnard area.
Should be nice for taking in some nice sun-sets.
