That's OK. She had already ruled out the SmartCar before I started this thread. As a matter of fact, that is WHY I started this thread.

Might try a Mazda Miata if she wants a convertible.

I was going to suggest a Miata, but they have TWO HUGE dogs.

I guess I forgot about that. Maybe they just need to put wheels on a large dog crate and pull it behind the Miata.

But with E85 it gets 30% less mileage, and since it takes more than a gallon of fuel to make a gallon of ethanol, why would anyone burn E85?

I hate this ethanol iniative. A tool of the corn lobby. Has messed up several of my engines and raises the price of foods. Another example of our politicians getting paid off.

When I told her its gas mileage was only about 25 MPG in the city,

Don't know where you got your information from, but my brand new Smartcar get's 36 to 37 mpg in the city and it's not even broke in yet. Only has 350 miles on it. It gets over 40 mpg on the highway. In talking with others that have theirs broke in they get 38 to 39 city and clode to 50 highway.

My 2009 4 door Ford Focus gets that and has power to boot.
