The slides on my Sterling tow bar are sticking. I have seen people recommend using silicone lubricant, but I'd like to use WD40. Is there any reason not to use WD40 for this?

Thanks,
Roland

I use WD-40, wipe it down, then dry silicone lube as per RoadMaster's instructions

It attracts dirt.

Roadmaster says NOT to use WD40. This is a great cleaner, however. I clean mine with a de-greaser, then clean with WD40 and completely dry the bars. Then I use Roadmaster's lubricant (the one they recommend). I ordered it from Roadmaster.

Thank you all for your assistance. I'll get the recommended lube from Roadmaster then. My tow bar came with the motorhome and I don't have instructions to go with it.

Thanks again and Best regards,
Roland

Roland....

I too have the Sterling and keep it clean, but it still sticks from time to time. Click here to view the Sterling owner's manual.

Hope this helps.
