Need help on CG recommendations, either COE or private.
Have heard a lot about how beautiful this lake/area is.
What are some things to see in this area. Thinking of
going this fall during LEAF SEASON. Will it be real
crowded at this time.
Any recommendations/suggestions appreciated.

Check out highway 125 campground. Just a short free ferry ride across the lake on the Arkansas side. Long been one of our favorite COE parks in the area.

Very good CG. I stayed there once but now stay at Battys Resort where he let me make a FHU site. The fishing is great. Esp. if you like trout. Your right beside the river. There is an old town there but can't remember name and then there is Bull S caves. The people are very frendly. Near Mt. Home. MHO CharWan
My Wife and I stay fairly often at the Buck Creek campground which is just across the lake from the Highway 125 campground. The ferry leaves from the Buck Creek site. Nice COE campground. Water spigots are close to the sites but you cannot stay hooked to them.
Thanks for the info.everybody. Do not quite understand
the ferry part. Is that for use with a toad,walk-on or
R.V.? More info. would be appreciated.

We stay at the White River CG across the river from Cotter and just outside of Flippin. It's a little older CG than most in the area but it's in a great location, has a boat dock and friendly people and GREAT fishing.

We have stayed at the White River State Park. It is right on the river, just below the dam. Fish out the back door if you want to. Also, a boat dock is located in the park. Just a few minutes down the road to Gaston's Resort. We had some of the best baby back ribs ever there. A very pretty area in my book.

Just to set the record straight: This park used to be known as Bull Shoals State Park. Apparently now it is Bull Shoals-White River State Park. goldsp8 is right. Trout fishing is the thing, and it cannot be beat if that is your thing. Plus it is down in a canyon of sorts and away from everything. The food at Gaston's, as reported, is great.
