We have an '04 Dodge 3500 quad-cab, and an '09 GMC 2500 crew cab. After installing the 2 huge Britax carseats and 1 booster seat in each, is is obvious that the Dodge has several inches more seat measuring door-to-door. Huge gaps between the carseat/booster/carseat in the Dodge. In the GMC, they are squished tight enough we have to position them just-so in order for my daughter to be able to buckle herself in. As far as legroom goes, they are pretty much identical. The GMC seats are significantly more comfortable than the Dodge, but that will never dissaude my DH from owning a Dodge. He will always have a Dodge for towing, and I will always have a GMC for Onstar. Makes for a happy house that way...

I have a 2004.5 quad cab and I have spent quiet a few hours back there and not uncomfortable. I am a big fellow and also like to sit straight up, even when driving, other wise I feel like I am sliding out of seat, even with 6 way power seat.

My 05 has been the best truck I've owned. At nearly 70K I've put just a center bearing in it(drove threw a flood), and had to clean a battery terminal once. Same batterys, brakes, and belts so far.

I have 65K on my 07.5 Dodge and have had no problems. I do a lot of in town driving and some highway. It's been a great truck.

In terms of in-town driving and the DPF, I also do a lot of city driving and I have never had an issue. However, I keep my exhaust brake on at all times, and every once in a while go hammer down for a minute or so and it's all good.

I am looking at the Quad cab, longved.
Its still a good sized cab, not really much less than my fords Crewcab is.

Not entirely true. I have a quad cab dually and it is bigger than a Ford or GM extended cab. but still an extended cab. The rear seat is ramrod straight with a short seat pad and not a lot of room for growing boys. They will not be happy there for more than about 30 minutes at a whack. Believe me on that one.

I agree that back seat is not for adults or growing boys for any distance, IMO.

05 3500 DRW with over 72,000 miles - ZERO problems not caused by a dealer. Every truck has its problems. I have had Fords, Chevys, Nissans, Toyotas and at one time an International. My current Dodge is by far the best performing truck and most trouble free that I have ever owned. It is not the most comfortable, nor is it the largest in regard to interior space. However, for what I use it for it has performed beyond my wildest expectations and I couldn't be happier. I intend to keep this vehicle until the wheels fall off and the body rusts away....

I went and sat in a quad cab truck myself on saturday.
I was surprised how roomy it was.
The fact that I could fit at all, means my kids will have lots of room in it.
I am 6'2" tall, and could close the door and sit up nicely.

Thanks for all the assistance folks.
I have asked the salesman to find me a truck with the options and in the colors I like.
