My choice as always is Pirateland. If you want pull thru's they have them on concrete pads or dirt. Most of their sites have a cabana for picnic table. The sites are twice as big as Ocean Lakes or Lakewood. We'll be there in October for two weeks.

Personally. I would suggest Myrtle Beach Travel Park. Having stayed at all of the MB CGs. This one fits your criteria best. All pull thru on the beach. OL is pull thru as well. But the sites are smaller.
MBTP is in a somewhat quieter section of MB, but close to many of the best activities, and restaurant row, and it is walking distance to Apache Pier. With a huge natural area on the north side, with plenty of shells.

As for the ocean view. There are few sites at MB with much of a ocean view, because the sand dunes are too high to see over. Apache has the best ocean view. Their dunes are shorter. but so are their sites. And of course if you want to be at the beach. Avoid Willow Tree. As mentioned. It is not even close to MB, or the beach. Makes it hard to go for a beach walk any time you want.
I agree that Pirateland is very nice, actually PL, and MBTP, are our favorites. Depending on the type of stay we want. But
I was thinking that PL's pull thrus. Face away from the beach? their sites are very large though, and the picnic shelter is great. MBTP has those as well, as Apache.

Do call now. The sooner the better. And go on the MB web site. There may be some specials running.

The private parks on the beach are nothing more than parking lots with hookups. We like the State Parks, including Myrtle Beach State Park. Easy walk to the water's edge, but a 'real' campground.

We also like MB State Park, in fact we will be there tomorrow afternoon. I hope the weatherman is wrong in his forcast however. If he's correct we will get to see if our HTT has any leak issues. I'm not a snob, but camping in a KOA or any of the huge camprgrounds with someone jammed up against you on both sides is just not a great experience. I'll take the state and national parks everytime.

My vote goes to Ocean Lakes. This time of year is the best time to go. Not to many people and much fewer golf carts.

We like Ocean Lakes because all of the sites are pull thru and it is close to a lot of restaurants, etc. Our Dog prefers Huntington Beach State Park. The sites are back-in and you have to walk a path to get to the beach. Once you are there you can almost have all the beach to yourself. Our dog played so much on the beach she was exhausted every night. At Ocean Lakes there are fireworks almost every night which some dogs are scared of. We have already made plans to go back to Huntington Beach State Park.

Enjoy!

Horry county is still allowing fireworks??. We didn't make it down last year and heard thru the grape vine it was going to stop. We reserved for the up coming New Years, AND if fireworks are still ok than GOOD... because I put on one heck of a show.

Don't like the view?? Then change it and Go CampingOur pics

As far as private CG, MB Travel park may well be the best pick. Willow Tree is nice, but no where near MB or the ocean, despite what they say. The 'big 3' (Ocean Lakes, Pirateland, Lakewood) have many sites, close together, most of them not pull thru. The KOA in MB is really a nice CG, with Pull thrus, but not on the ocean.
.

Ocean Lakes is all pull-thru and you can select you site you want to stay at. The campground is huge with lots of concrete pads.

Pulled into Myrtle Beach Travel Park on Monday and lots of empty sights. We are on site 200 about 100 yards from the beach. A few kids but not many. Will probably see more come the weekend. If near by stop and say hi.
