I cut a 8" length of 4" Eternabond and pealed the protective cover halfway back along the length:

So far so good. We had a leak in the patio room roof and no mater what I tried the darn thing still leaked depending on the way the rain cames down. About a month ago I used the tape down the seam in the roof that was leaking and NO MORE LEAK. I also developed a small pin hole in the awning and haf put a small cover over that so should be good for the next 10 years. Just google and you will find it, I don't remember the name of the compay I got my 50'x4" roll from but they were a roofing company supply house.

Hi all,
The only downside I know to eternabond is that the edge of the tape is sticky--dust and dirt will stick to that.

Yeap, but if it bothers you, you can put a small bead of sealer, and it is done.

Hi map40,
What type of sealer? My old RV was almost more eternabond than siding LOL! It did look ok initially--but then got very shabby from the dirt accumulation.

Regular Dicor lap sealant, not self-leveling. Just small enough to cover the sticky part.

On that dicor self leveling lap sealant, do you scrape off the old before applying the new?

I had an RV tech tell me to clean it with "mineral spirits", but then I read that it would cause problems because of the petroleum. Something about not sticking as well.
What did you clean it with?
