I just wanted to let everyone know that Michelin is a stand up company. I have an '06 Winnebago Minnie Winnie with LTX MS tires on there. The MH came with them. They were made in the 46th week of '05. I noticed last week that I have what I would call premature sidewall cracking. It's not deep by any means but superficial and that alone bothers me.
Anyway I called Michelin direct and asked them about it and if the stand behind their product. They said "Yes we do, take the MH to an authorized Michelin dealer and have them inspected". I did take it to NTB and they called Michelin and confirmed what I had told them. After absolutely no hassle at all. Michelin is covering 85% of the cost of new tires for my MH. It's gonna cost me about $250 out the door for 6 new tires and that includes mounting and balancing. Michelin is a stand up company. It's going in later this week.
By the way I am a member over on trailer life but when I try to log in I get an error page. I don't know what's up with that but I know firefox doesn't like it.
I'm glad they finally stepped up to the plate for someone. When I had trouble with zipper blow outs on XRV tires they wouldn't give me the time of day. I wasn't the only one that got the cold shoulder or a complete ignore job. Doubtful I will ever go back to Michelin tires after that fiasco.

My Michelin XRV's are only 4 years old, side walls all cracked.. 20% of tread use, they will only go 50%..

Time for rubber on my dually and I'm looking very seriously at the LTX's
The general experience of folks on this site shows that LTX's are not really suitable for MHs. They seem to fail early a lot of the time.
XPS Ribs are what Michelin shows for this use, and they are excellent, but expensive.
Someone mentioned that Michelin is coming out with an LTX2 (or somethiung like that), I wonder if that will be better?
For now, I'd put LTXs on my SUV or pickup, but not my MH.
Not quite what Michelin says. I called them, and they told me that the XPS are better, but the LTX for the weight a class C carries, it is good enough. I have had LTXs in this and my previous MH, and never had a problem. The issue on this tires is not related to weight capacity, but to weathering cracks.

For sure. The left all the XRV owners out in the cold. Standard excuse of "you must have been overloaded" or "you must have been underinflated." Our XRV's on our Winnie were terrible compared with the Goodyears we've had since. Having said that I think the problem was entirely in the XRV line and none of the others. I'd buy and of their tires except the XRV's. When we toured the Freightliner factory at Gaffney while having our Journey serviced there we noticed on the production line that there was a big change. The specs for 2004 called for XRV's only. In 2005 they were putting on a lot of GY's. I asked and after some mumbling learned that a lot of manufacturers demanded and alternative because of the flack they were getting due to the blowouts.
