Better idea is to drain your tank, and while the valve is open, spray some silicon lube in on the valve seals.
NOT WD40 or anything petroleum based...just silicon lube.

I pour a little Murphy's oil soap into my drains occasionally. I don't know for sure that it helps, but I haven't had any problems.

I use a different brand. It is well worth it if your valves are remote & not accessible.

That is the reason that I was considering it. What brand are you using?

You might look at ingredients. One I looked at was almost pure coconut oil.

I can't remember the name brand but it was the coconut oil one that chuck&gail mentioned. It was the one my local dealer stocked. The Thetford product you linked to should work fine. I think most are veggie oil based.
I have used veggie oil to lubricate my valves for years. I have slide valves on other equipment I use in my business & this is what the mfg. has always suggested.
