It's not just the programmers!
On the old AT&T #4ESS switching machine (which I haven't worked on in more than 15 years) a piece of hardware had a series of flip-flops that showed up on the functional circut pack schematic as the F U .. Y O U (you can fill in the missing letters) flip/flops.
I'd hate to have to explain many of the comments I used in some of the basic shell scripts I wrote!

There are only 10 types of people in the world:
Those who know binary and those who don't.

Yup, all us I.T. people are slightly demented. That's the only way we can cope with our jobs. When we get in a new server, I usually run around the office with the foam end packing on my head like a pirate hat waving my iPhone around with the Jedi Lightsaber app going...
...and I'm the department supervisor!

If the code for the operating system was written properly in the first place there would be no need for virus protection because there would be no "bugs" to exploit.
The point was, Microsoft Windows has more flaws than any other operating system. Period! Windows is just DOS with a bag on it.

If they re wrote Windows to be REALLY better eliminate the registry ( a Disaster)ETC. It wouldn't work with all the old programs out there!! and everyone would raise H---,they were being ripped off! Personally i hope they say "that's it" no more backwards compatability and move on someday. Apple hasn't had all the Business customers running decades old software to appease and did that already.

I don't know any current users, however, I just read a computer magazine article where they tested it along with some similar programs. They said it fared quite well... it wasn't the best, but it finished in the top 1/3.

If you are asking about the MS "Security Essentials" ... Yes...
I downloaded the new MS "Security Essentials" last week and so far , so good..
The only thing it does not have is an "ON/OFF" switch so it can be turned off when installing new programs...
Many, if not most program installation instructions say to turn off anti-virus and pop-up blockers before installing program..
I've found no way to turn off the MS Essentials ...

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

I installed MS security essentials last week on 2 computers and am very happy. I had Avast and Spybot S&D. IE7 and Firefox both had gotten very sluggish. After remove both and installing MSE both are very responsive and fast now.
