Have a new Coachman Freelander "C" with the sprinter chassis. Second time out the trailer module burned out. Took the RV to the sprinter dealership as directed by dealership where it was purchased. Sprinter tech at dealership said that there was too much current draw on tail light and brake lights and that the BCM might be damaged. Also connectors esposed and not sealed under RV. Bottom line, anyone out there had this problem with Coachman and got the problem resolved???

SO...you're saying that they DIAGNOSED the problem but didn't REPAIR it? Seems that your dealer does not fully understanding the concept of "warranty"

Does that mean you were towing something and they think the tow drew too much power from the brake and tail light circuits? Surely a fuse in the MH should have prevented any damage. Exposed connectors - it should be possible to tell if something scraped the bottom recently or if the connectors were left exposed at the factory. Funny, you would think connectors should be exposed so you can use them.

A warranty rarely covers abuse. A warranty almost always leaves the determination of whether abuse has occurred to the manufacturer or their dealers. If the dealer is saying that abuse caused the failure it will be an uphill fight to have the warranty honored. However if the dealer/manufacturer claims the electrical system has been abused then they must have a current specification on the device. I would demand to know what the rating is and then a few measurements with an Ammeter will show whether the rating was or was not exceeded by the load.
