Maybe we can sue our investment advisor.

I don't think we had much choice. Anymore they don't care what they people want they just ram it thru and spend more of our money that we don't have.
Yep, spend, spend, spend. Pretty soon it will be tax, tax, tax, once China stops lending us money.

Ford stock is at $1.71 which is a far cry from its 2005 high of $27. It is still well above its 2002 low of $0.73.

I am a Bowtie guy to the bone. I drive the same '57 Chevy which I first rode in when I was born 40 some years ago. That said, I admire Ford for saying 'NO' to the government. On that point alone, I would seriously consider them if I was in the market for a new vehicle.

I don't think GM has solved their issues that contributed to their demise. They were rewarded for their failures at my expense. I don't think Dodge is even a player anymore. For the first time in my 40+ years, I am only considering a Ford for my next purchase.

Before the bailouts, I would buy the best American vehicle (Ford/Chev/Dodge) available unless a Japanese or German brand was markedly better.

After the bailout, I will only consider buying a Ford first, then a Japanese Brand, then a Hyundai or Kia, and finally a GM or Chrysler.

I will NEVER EVER EVER have a government produced car. Others will disagree with me, but that is how I choose to spend my money, and there must be millions who think the same as me.

I struggle to think of a profitable government program, and I do not see how the new government car program (GM) will be any different.

Good luck trying to sell an unprofitable business to a private company. We will be subsidizing GM forever, just like we subsidize Amtrak.

A lot of us are still buying what we want, when we want it...we prepared, paid our taxes without complaint, saved money in our 401kS without being greedy, paid off our houses and debts... now get the maximum social security, and medicare that we paid for.

Life is good for those that prepared... but hard for those that are still preparing.

We'd buy another GMC today if the one we have didn't still look and preform like new!

Just looked at the Ford stock prices.....$6.84 per share. Not sure where you got the $1.71 price?

I came from a GM type of guy thing and bought our 2005 F-350 in my sig. It has been the BEST truck I have EVER owned. Since I have had such good results with it I bought a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid . Loved it. After it was totalled by a drunk driver, we were not hurt, I replaced it with the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. I wanted more MPG's. I got them. In the hybrid cases I think Ford has the best in their class hybrids in the American market. Toyota may have the sales but if those folks looked at both they would see that Fords Hybrids are better in MPG's in their class, and refinement and Fords hybrid drivetrain is Taxi tested tough. Unlike Toyota's. Ford Escape Hybrids are up to 300,000+ miles now in taxi service, with no major failures just the usual maintenence.

I can get about 52MPG on the freeway with the AC off at 65 mph. It is rated by the Feds at 36mpg. This Ford Fusion Hybrid is in the Prius mpg's area and is way more comfortable and quiet. We love it. While made in Mexico it still supports more USA jobs and this is EXTREMLY important to me. If we have no jobs, who will buy from me my products and services? We need to see the big picture. Chinese stuff is not cheaper since it costs us jobs and ruins our economy. They don't need to invade they are ruining our economy and will beat us into the ground with our own hands. And we will continue to line up for more.

Regretting I don't have the $17,000 to buy a lightly used 1999 Ford F350 Crew Cab Dually 4x4 with the 7.3L diesel, long bed, lariat package, 5th wheel hitch. Engine only has 57,000 miles on it.

It was the truck of the late father of some friends of mine. It still looks factory new, just needs a new set of tires.

Ford F-Series trucks have been the best selling truck for over 30 years.

That's because of people like me who buy a GMC truck and drive it for 20+ years.

I get on average 15-20 years plus out of a Chevrolet/GMC Truck.
I got 2 years out of my last Ford Truck

Based on that I can see why Ford sells so many of those trucks.
