We are very excited..We ordered our 2010 Starcraft 217RBSS today(basic twin Jayco 21M & ROO 21SS)...we are so happy to be getting back to a hybrid...we started in a pop-up, then had a Starcraft HTT for 6 years, then a TT and have had a 31' 5th wheel for 3 years....we are SO ready to part with this big thing !! Out of all the campers, our hybrid was the one we enjoyed the most...so many things we look forward to getting back to, the bunk ends, fitting into any campsite, easier to wash the outside, easier to clean inside and not feel like I have a 2nd house to clean, a smaller truck, and the list goes on and on. Now the hard part, waiting 6-8 weeks for it to arrive.....we are buying from the same dealer we bought our 1st Starcraft Travelstar 21RBS from several years ago.....so after making the loop from a HTT to a TT and then a 5'er, we think it's neat that we'll be leaving that same dealer with a new Starcraft Travelstar...one we truly hope to keep for many years to come..We can't wait !!

SO MANY PLACES, SO LITTLE TIME
Don't hear of many people going back to an HTT. Seems like everyone gets bigger and bigger. I know right now we feel this is the best way to camp. Some creature comforts, yet still the tent/outdoor/camping feeling. Glad to have you back! The weeks will go by fast, and since you are in the South you can still get out when it arrives and camp!
Congrats on your new Starcraft!

Thanks !! Yes, we love that year-round camping here in the south, it's wonderful....like many, we went bigger and bigger and I am sure there are MANY who made the move and couldn't be happier, however we are NOT one of them...we are weekend campers only with the occasional 4-day trip and that is it..we have no problem admitting that we got "lured in" with all the home-like fancy campers that they make....and I think they are FANTASTIC for the family that gets to spend a significant amount of time camping or for the full-timer and I would never knock that !!! But that is just not our lifestyle....although we don't regret the experience(thankful we learned it at a "some-what" young age...He's 43, I'm 39), we have come to realize that we do NOT...I repeat, Do NOT want to spend our golden-years maintaining some big-rig, we would rather have a small camper with minimal maintenance...I'll be perfectly honest, after 3 years I still have never been comfortable with owning a "big-rig"(and ours is SMALL compared to most) and have many times said "Oh My, What have we done" ......I just can't wait to get back to a normal sized camper !! The "Big Rig" just isn't us...and I'm also not ashamed to admit, it's been an expensive lesson learning that !!
One of my best friends bought a very large 5'er and seldom uses it,his wife secretly told me that it overwhelmed him trying to follow us through the MTNS of WV/VA.
We do send them a postcard and bring back pictures.
We were thinking of going to a 33' TT but I think we are going to stay with the hybrids. We are going to buy a new unit but one with a slide. We like the Jayco 23M as well as the Starcraft 217RBSS. Are you getting yours thru PECO's?
Yes, we are buying from PECO....we had a great experience with PECO when we bought our first camper so we feel good about buying from them again. We were orginally looking at the Jayco 21M in Conyers since Jayco has the 2-year warranty...but in the end, after trade-in, PECO came out at almost $3k less, so it was easy to make our decision and get the Starcraft from PECO. The sales prices were about the same at both dealers, it was the trade-in value of our current camper that made the difference in price.

We retired last year and retired the 8' PUP. Our plan was a nice shiny new truck and 29' fiver. The economy and a few other things kind of put that on hold. We decided to go with a 23' HTT and got a nice used SUV to tow it. Whole thing was probably half of what I originally, planned, but turns out I love the HTT and probably would not have liked towing and was said maintaining a fiver.
We just went to the Novi, MI camper show and on the indoors, it is sure easy to get caught up in the glitz of the big trailers, but after just coming back from a cold rainy week of camping, the reality is that the HTT is a perfect fit for us.
Sounds like you have a winner!!!
