I've had the new 3000 for over a month now, non electric start, and have started it with ease, real nice, one pull, so guess the 2000 would be similar. I can al so lift it with ease. My chain saw and weed wacker take the wind out, glad the Honda is not like them! Bill

You say you can lift the EU3000 with ease? I have a EU3000 and I sure CANNOT lift it with ease . If you can your a better man than me.

The new 3000s have done away with the electric starter and battery. They now weigh only 71 lbs dry.
And for that reason I can do it without help. I knew the regular 3000 would do me in. and will not get in the better man bit! Bill

I own two little Honda EU2000's. ...Because I wanted the option of bringing simply 2000 watts in winter (one generator) ...or using the parallel kit to connect both generators together, giving me 4000 watts for the summer time airconditioner.

Yes, they start up after the 2nd or third pull after storage for about a month or more. That being said, you have to remember to turn on the choke prior to the first pull.

Also, I use fuel "Sta Bil" and I "double" the dose, as directed on the instructions of the bottle. I also use the 91 octane fuel for when I'm up in higher altitudes and if I'm running the airconditioner. I don't want the knocking/pinging for a generator under a heavy load. Make sure you run your generator once per month for about 15 minutes UNDER LOAD. Plug in a light, area heater, vacum cleaner or something, just to exercise the generator.

I've never had problems with the Hondas. You get what you pay for. By the way, my 11 year old daughter can start up the generators no problem.

Don't confuse the new one as being as quiet as the older one.

I did not know that the starter and battery was done away with.
My bad. I apologize if I was sarcastic in the "better man than me"
statement. I know my EU3000 is much harder to move around than the 2 EU2000 that I had but it has a starter and battery.

I hadn't checked all the specs, I just saw a Camping World ad touting the weight. What are the new ones rated at? The old (3 yrs) EU30000is I have is rated at 54 db at 20 feet.

Dont hold me to it, I cannot remember and cannot find my papers, but think its around mid 60's db, that didnt bother me, the less weight was the trade off for me. Bill

I received my Hondas' yesterday. After my hubby put oil and gas in the first one and got it going, he had me try starting it. I started it several times on the first try...after chocking it. He also put the Stabil fuel in it. I also can carry it. I am very pleased with it. Thanks for the input here. He didn't get the companion ready yet.

EU3000iHAN: 65 dB @ rated load, 57 dB @ 1/4 load, 78#

EU3000ISAN: 58 dB @ rated load, 49 dB @ 1/4 load, 134#

The new light 3000 idles at the peak rating of the older 3000 and goes up from there. I would say it will be about twice as loud.
