Just got back from 5 days at this park and just wanted to post that the park is very nice. The sites are very large with plenty of room for TT, truck and canopy tent. They are not on top of each other.

The bathhouses are new and very clean with spacious shower stalls if you desire to use them.

Lots of things to do in the area. We went rappeling down a cliff at Little River Canyon. That was fun. They have kayaking, white water rafting, rock climbing, rappeling and of course more hiking trails then you can shake a stick at.

Even with in the campground itself they have a pool (not open this time of the year), tennis courts and lots of hiking trails that take you to a couple of small falls.

We are going back next summer to continue down the list of to do's....

Michelle,
Plz post a review on rvparksreviews.com if you haven't already done so. Many use that site as a starting point when researching campgrounds.

BTW...thanks for the review here.

if you liked that, have you tried Cloudland Canyon State Park? it's been upgraded also in the last few years.

by the way Lake Guntersville is great too, but campground hasn't been upgraded, new lodge though, if they ever get done with it.

We were on site 60 in the lower loop. Friends of our were across the street on 61. If you are wanting a back in site I would say the lower loop is the best. All the sites are spacious. The back in sites are gravel.

The pull through sites are in the middle area. There are all paved including driveway and patios. I felt there were a little closer together then the back in ones.

When we go again I will try and get into the lower loop.

When we were there in April, the "new" upper loop was not open yet, but we walked through there and thought those were definitely the best sites...they are huge sites and shaded, but probably not good for satellite tv(as mentioned, they have cable tv) ....the lower loop is really great too...we like the back-ins better than the pull-throughs but they were fine. It is a great campground for sure. The whole park is great and so is the surrounding area.

We were there in June & absolutely loved it. Can't remember the site # but it looked like it had very recently been renovated. Definitely one of my all-time favs. Can't wait to go back some time.
