You can't take the Fisherman out of this Camper wrote: We also have a fiver on a seasonal site in Florida and spend three months there every winter. I fly two (small) flags on one pole at the front of the fiver. Proper flag protocol says... when in the US, fly the US flag above the Canadian one, and you will have happy campers all around!
I also thought it was proper to fly the American flag above the Canadian flag when in the US.
However upon checking, it seems that both flags should be hung or flown at equal hight on two different poles or staffs.
The reason that I am asking here is because a couple of years I asked the same question on a political forum and was prompltly told several times what I should do with my Canadian flag

It is great that you fly both flags, but you never fly both flags on one pole. They should be on different poles with the host country on the left side, and both flags are to be at the same height.

But, better a Canadian flag than a Chinese one...! Seems like an ice-breaker to me. Everyone will see the flag, know you are from Canada, and walk up to you and state the obvious, "You from Canada...?"

No Hand out Moosehead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure if you accidentially violate a rule about flag display someone will point it out. But if it causes any huge issues that person probably has way too much time on his hands. The chances of starting an international incident causing border skirmishes in Pembina North Dakota or Submarines off the coast of Isle Royal are very slim.

Well actually (as my little grandson used to say, but that's another story for another time) you do fly flags from two different countries on the same flag pole but ONLY during a time of war between the countries involved.

We stay in FL and TX both for the winter. Two of our kids were smart and moved to warm climates. We have friends in the parks we stay at that fly the Canadian flag all the time. We see nothing wrong with after all you are Canadian and letting people know you are proud of your country. Of course flag poetical needs to be followed whether you are flying a Canadian flag in the us or an American flag in Canada, which we did this summer. As stated it gets a conversation going very easily.
Go for it!

You are absolutely right and that is why I said you never fly one countries flag on top of another countries flag as it means that the flag on the bottom is under occupation. Unless I'm missing some important news flash, our countries are at peace with one another..........
