This past week I've notice something weird with my Firefox program. When I use a link to access some (not all) web sites, the site remains on the screen for a few seconds, then disappears. This only happens in Firefox. I've scanned the program for viruses and other problems and all is negative. Any ideas?

I had same issues and ran my Spybot program and it picked up a few things my Norton didn't. After that everything worked as normal. My wife had the same on hers as well. I am guessing some spyware from a website.

Was your problem just with Firefox, too?

After reading how well a lot of member’s liked FireFox. I downloaded and install it a few weeks ago.

The next time I turned on my computer (directly after the installation) my desk top photo was gone. Before initiating any programs, I immediately went to restore and restored my computer to a few days before.

After which I made sure my Webroot program definitions were updated, then did a full scan. After the scan I reinstalled my AVANT browser. All is back to normal…

BTW, I did notice that FireFox placed a odd fine on my desk top. I erased the fine using my Eraser Program.

PS I'm running Vista Home Premium

How much available memory do you have? If applications are running that use up most of your available memory, Firefox may not load images or the website itself.

I have plenty of memory. Also, I am able to view the same linked web sites with other browsers. It seems to be related to Firefox, somehow. As suggested by bradyk, I might try Spybot. My AVG spyware program hasn't picked up anything.

Addendum: I was mistaken about the memory, apparently, because after jettisoning a slew of desktop items, the problem has disappeared. Nice call, 1492, and thank you!
