I use 2X8 and 1X6 planks for the wheels. For the jacks I use 4X8 blocks made from post we used when we built our deck at home.

I use these Levelers.
They are great. I purchased 2 boxes which is 4 levelers. They do not crack split or rust. If they get dirty you can wash them right off. Since they are angled you just either pull forward or back up until level then chock your tires.

Something I did was to attach a piece of 1/4 inch plywood to the bottom board but about 9 inches longer. You will back up on the plywood and then the boards. This way they won't slide on asphalt or concrete. Has worked great for me.

I use my trusty laser level set and find what side is higher and then how much is the difference. Then I take a 3/4 board or 1 1/2 2x6 and place in back of tires and then drive up onto them, making sure the right thickness is under the low side With a level trailer at the wheels I then do the same for front landing gear. Done. I then raise and lower the landing gears until it is level with a torpedo level just inside the door Done

I use hydraulic corner jacks. I don't know what they weigh. I just push a button or two and it's level.

Two sets of the plastic lego style blocks has been all we ever needed. I have seen people back in a campsite and start pulling lumber out of the camper and the truck. When done they have enough to build a small house and I never understand why it takes that much. I have never used any thing under the front jacks but I see people stack wood a foot tall and only let the jacks down a few inches, same on the rear. Then some have to have all the tires on wood even on a level site. Why? The best one was the guy that built a ramp for his sewer hose that must have had 40 feet of lumber used. To each his own I guess. The only wood I plan to haul will be for a campfire.

I used to haul a bunch of planks and blocks around till I got 2 sets of lego blocks (Lynx). It is not so much the weight but the room all that wood takes up. The blocks come in a nice little bag and don't take up much room at all. I also don't seem to pick up as much dirt (read mud) on the blocks as I did the planks. The planks did make nice fire started though. Block or wood is sort of like using a piece of rug or the RV mats under your awning. Both work but one just make life a whole lot easier.

Brian first of all I would like to Thank you for your service to our Country. We have always use the Lynx block type plastic blocks. They can be bought at Wally World for under $30.00 or so. Very light weight and easy to use. Don't know what type RVing you like but I would recomend two sets. I still carry the Lynx levelers even though our 5th wheel has 6 Hydraulic jacks and we have the side to side leveling system. But I have been in a few of the older parks were the sites weren't level and the Hydraulic Jack wouldn't extend enough to get the 5er level so I would have to raise the tires off the ground as for as I could then I put the Lynx blocks under the tire and then lower the 5er down on the blocks and put blocks under the Hydraulic Jacks a raise the 5er until level. Again I wouldn't use wood just having to handle them is enough problem. GBY...
