Another question for those more experienced -

It's time to get rid of my old TV/DVD 12V combo, which is fading fast. It sits on a slide-out tray in the cabinet next to the galley in my AF860. I'd like to replace it with the largest flat-screen I can comfortably mount/use in the camper (less for the size of the screen when used in the camper, than its utility outside the camper for showing DVD's at trade shows etc).

I could mount it to the front wall of the cabinet on a swing-out bracket, but the cabinet is only 17" deep and 23" high. I don't want it to intrude over the bed too much, since someone (me) is going to hit it getting in/out of bed.

Does anyone have any thoughts and/or photos on mounting locations, TV size etc? I'm looking for ideas on how best to do this.

Thanks,

- Clay

Hi Clay. We recently mounted a 32" flatscreen Samsung HDTV on the bedroom wall in our new toy hauler. We also cut a hole in the cabinet next to one side of the bed and mounted a DVD player inside the cabinet.
So far, it works great! We'll be heading to Texas soon on our very first trip. Check out our travel blog to see photos. Good luck.

Thanks all -

FF1063, I assume that the 24" Visio when stored sticks out about 9" over the bed? Can you swing it around to view from the dinette/galley? I'd love to see a pic if you have one -

I was looking at mounts last night but couldn't find one that would allow me to view from the cabover and the dinette both, plus swivel so that I could store the TV on its side so that it wouldn't extend out from the cabinet so much when stored.

Thanks,

- Clay

Yes, I'd be putting the mount on the outside front of the cabinet - a 3-arm mount looks like it would work.

Do any of these mounts have a swivel head, so that the TV can be stored vertically? That'd keep it more out of the way in my rig (I really don't use it very much) -

Pictures of how it looks stored and out would be wonderful, thanks -

The swing arm I used can be turned so the TV is vertical.

This is from the Arctic Fox Truck Camper Owners Forum and the method that I used to install my 19" HDTV.

Excellent info, thank you!

Tizi, do you by any chance have a link to the bracket you got?

Best,

- Clay
