I currebtly have a 2-3 yr old Garmin Nuvi 200. I intend to replace it with a new unit with more features and Canada maps. Should I get another Garmin or another kind like Magellan or TomTom?

I have the Garmin Nuvi 780 and just love it. They where one of the first with GPS technology and I don't think anyone else comes close.

Brand is a lot less important that the features you want and they ALL have the same features available (from what I've seen). Compare models with desired features and shop price by brand (if price matters)

I don't think you can beat Garmin for ease of use.

I have a handheld Garmin that is 20 years old still works.
I have a LowRance about 10 years old it gets hot and stops working.
I just bought a Garmin 265WT 2 weeks ago two things it doesn't have is
the ability to load in preplanned routes and it doesn't have lane change function. two things I can live without the 265wt cost about 1/2 the cost of a gps that has those functions.
I highly recommend Garmin.
