RV spot is next to the house, right where the main electrical service is. I snapped in a 30 amp breaker, ran wire and conduit 3 feet down from the box to a 30 amp weather-proof covered 30 amp plug.

With an adapter, it's a great place to plug in all the house Christmas lights.

20 amp GFCI outside outlet on the house. Runs everything I need to run when parked at home, including the AC.

I use 20 amp from a garage outlet. Use a 50' light extension cord to the motorhome. All I need is enough power to run the refrigerator and converter (to keep the batteries charged). Both satellite receivers are also always plugged in. We don't use the motorhome when parked at home so no high amperage drawing AC or hot water is needed.

I use a 75' generator extension cord that was rated for 20 Amps, but I changed the ends to a 15A plug on one end and a 30A receptacle on the other end. This is plugged into a 20A GCFI duplex receptacle on the side of the house (rated for 15A per side). I will soon be swapping out the receptacle and plug for 20A twist-locks. Then the entire circuit will be good for 20A, end to end. If the batteries are fully charged so the charger doesn't draw much current or if I set the charger to draw 10A or less, I can run one AC.

By the way, when I first set up at this location, all I had was a 100' light duty extension cord. If the charger needed too much juice, the voltage would drop below 105 volts and the EMS would disconnect. When I first upgraded to the heavier gauge cord and ends, the voltage drop was OK, but the charger load tended to trip the main breaker or GFI breaker. This is when I started dialing down the charge current.

We have a RV 50 amp on the side of the house, in and down to main panel, dual 50 breaker. "Not" ground fault.

http://www.myrv.us/electric/

electric needs to be spell checked

My city requires a NEMA 10-50R in the garage to eventually charge all of our electric vehicles. It was wired on a 40 amp breaker and #8 wire. As luck would be, there was a ground wire pulled but not connected so a NEMA14-50R popped right in for regular 50 amp service(limited to 40 amps). No problem as my RV is 30a so the dog bone gets used at home when needed.
