I do appreciate the guys at Pickuptruck.com. Just about every day I pop in to see what is new. They are pretty good keeping up on a changing market. Your link was an enjoyable read.

"Never get in a battle of wits with an unarmed man"
According to Mike's article, the diesel option costs:
Dodge - 2010 - $8020 with the 6 speed auto included, $6445 with manual trans Chevy/GM - 2009 - $8400 with 6 speed auto (no manual trans offered) Ford - 2009 - $9325 with 5 speed auto, $7835 with 6 speed manual
I wonder how much the price will increase for Ford or Chevy/GM buyers in the 2010 models? Dodge increased the Cummins option price $500 for 2010. I'd guess that by 2010, the diesel option with an auto trans may top $10,000 for Ford and GM. I mean, Ford is nearly there already at $9325. Add to that the fact that both the Ford and Chevy/GM will use urea....and I wonder how that will effect sales?
I know there are many that are brand loyal and will buy one brand over another no matter what, but I think Dodge/Cummins will have a significant price advantage, and not using urea will also be an advantage in my books.
I also think there may be more HD gassers sold in 2010 over previous years. Depends on what Ford comes out with to replace the 6.8L V10 too.
About that diesel option. See the upcharge for the Ford diesel, well on the F-450 pickup the diesel is standard not an add on option. My 450 actually priced out lower than a F-350 with the added diesel option. Odd but true. $9,300.00 is a hell of a price, than again so is the other brand's cost. Like I wrote earlier, I am thinking about returning to a gas fired truck, I think it will work well for my needs.
I guess those guys at pickuptruck.com like the looks of the newest Ram HD trucks, as does pretty much everyone else. Of course, there is always the stray opinion from left field brand loyalists who simply aren't mature enough to compliment anything about another brand. And those folks usually resort to lies as well when they can't accept the truth. Oh well!
When does it get so high cost we can't afford a new truck.

I don't know about you, but for me it was the day I bought my current TV, it MSRP'd for 41k and I paid 32k for it. Even that at the time seemed insane. It didn't take but 2 years for that MSRP for a rig equipped with the exact same options to MSRP at 50k. I know they are selling for much less, but the listed prices are just out of control.
I used to just buy trucks every 4 years for the sake of a new truck. Not anymore, I am driving this one until it is stolen, smashed or completely out of service life.

Dodge has had a better price advantage for awhile.. They usually give better rebates and dealer discounts on thier vehicles.
