I was planning on using a my honda Eu3000 at around 10,000 feet. I was wondering what I should expect for performance. I have used it at 7000 feet at it seemed to work well still running the AC I was just curious what another 3K would do. Thanks for any info.

You should expect a reduction in power just like with any normally aspirated engine. I've never seen HOT weather at 10,000 feet so you won't be needing all that power anyway. Good luck / skip

Dave the honda will lose 3%-5% power per 1000ft of elavation. thats quite a bit of loss, now skip i camp at 9000ft alot and have 90 deg. temps in july and aug. quite a bit and to me, im on vacation i dont want to be uncomforable for my naps.(no windows in bedroom,)

I doubt a 3000 watt generator would run an AC at 10,000 ft.

Question is, where on earth are you going that it gets hot enough to run an A/C at 10,000 ft.

I camped at 11,000 ft with my previous travel trailer in the middle of August and the temperature would not make it much over 60 in the day, and the nights were right about freezing.

I should have made myself clearer. This is for winter use during the skiing season. This would only be for light loads no ac mostly just running lights charging batteries and ocassional Microwave use. I was just wondering if the thing would run at all. I expect it would but just curious about those that have ran theirs at 10k.

Does it have an altitude adjustment like my ONAN has?

I re-jet my Honda EU2000i for altitude (most of the time I'm camped in a ski area or sno-park at 8,000 ft) not so much for more power, which it will have, but mainly to avoid running overly rich and the more frequent maintenance issues it causes (fouled plug, blocked spark arrestor screen and more rapid carbon build up in the cylinder head.
