If anyone could help me find an Electrical schematic for a 2010 Coachman Freedom Express Dreamer I won't need to post back with, "Oh no, I just blew a fuse with my drill." I've been able to find general schematics for different trailers and rigs but nothing specific. I emailed Coachman directly but have yet to hear back from them.

Thanks in advance,
Richard

That's now made by Forest River. In the past, when we've asked FR for wiring diagrams, they've said they don't have them, "every RV is different."

Contact Coachmen.

I am a bit surprised to hear they are still marketing Coachmen units under the "Freedom Express" moniker. I thought the agreement to make these proprietary "Freedom Express" branded units for Freedom Roads or Camping World associated dealers had expired and/or ended with the sale of Coachmen to Forest River. I wonder if delivery of more Freedom Express units was contracted before the Coachmen sale.

A friend, who is a salesman at a former Freedom Roads dealer, that has now been swallowed up as a Camping World store, had also told me that following the $20 million loaned to primary stockholder Stephen Adams by Thor Industries, future Freedom Express or other proprietary product would be made by Thor. I guess that hasn't come to pass. Hmmmm.

I emailed Coachmen once before the sale to Forest River and got a quick reply. Not terribly helpful but quick. I don't think it is a good sign that you are not getting a quick response but you could try Forest River too. Who knows if they really monitor the "Coachmen" email anymore?

I did not make a major effort at mining the web for information but I don't see a Freedom Express Dreamer anywhere. I do find a Freelander Dreamer model. I find tons of Coachmen Freedom Express travel trailers. I only find one 2010 Coachmen on Camping World's site and it is a Freelander. From looking at the web it is totally unclear who owns the "Freedom Express" trade name. It may well be that CW will sell house branded MHs made by Thor in the future. They may not be called Freedom Express however.

Coachman responded to my request after I sent them the serial # of the rig. The electrical schematics (4 in all) were somewhat helpful but I really was wondering where the wires ran in the walls. Guess I'll just need to go slow, and do a little fishing, when drilling in the uncharted waters.

Inside laminated foam core roof and wall panels, wiring is usually routed through channels cut into the foam, on the "in" side of the panel. You might be able to pick up this void with a sonic stud detector.

Another approach is to energize the circuit in question, put a load on it, and look for the magnetic field with a compass.

Many interior wall panels are hollow, with perimeter frames, maybe an intermediate stud or two if the panel is large or some furnishing needs to hang from the wall. Wiring can run anywhere in the hollow sections.

As much as possible, RV wiring tends to be run through open spaces in cabinets, and inside hollow cabinet walls, bottoms, ceilings and backs with removable interior panels for access. The under-floor space is also popular for wiring. But long front to back wiring runs may be found in a wall, if there is no place else to put it, and any wall switch or outlet is a good clue to where a wire has been run to it.
