I had bought a brand new Airstream trailer in hopes that their customer service and attention to details was better than most TT companies. I have found that not to be the case. I should have purchased a cheaper trailer. The issue I have is something that can be resolved due to Airstreams lack of attention to detail. I have a square compartmetn opening on the front of the trailer that has developed stress cracks in the beuatiful AL skin due to the opening being usupported and having 90 degree interior corners (metal guys will understand). The authorized Airstream Repair place has another trailer there same as mine with the same issue and they refuse to accept that it is a design flaw. Go figure.... I think all RV companies are the same. Don't be fooled they are in it to turn as much profit as possible. I don't care how much you pay for something.

Doesn't surprise me, their cashing in on the name like BMW ,Benz, and many other products that once believed in quality. I guess it pays off for them if it keeps them in business.

I have emailed them twice and they said take it to their repair center to find ou tif the repair will be warranted. The repair center was also surprised that it was not warranted. I have another call into Airstream myself also. We'll see what happens. I am thinking I should have just kept my Pop-up.

Why not jump over http://www.airforums.com/. Perhaps members over there could offer some advice on how to deal with this.

I'd say the problem goes back to Airstream's parent company which is Thor Industries
Thor has been know to start cutting corners when things get tight

When Walley Byam built his first Airstream in the 1920's, he sold the plans for DIY folks to build themselves. In 1932 the Airstram went into production. The owners became almost a cult, proud of showing off their shiney polished aluminum Airstreams!

And for $64,745.00 msrp this is not an entry level Thor trailer!
Airstream

Hope your Airstream experience improves and you have many happy years with it!

For almost ten years I've towed 16 states with many repeat trips with my "entrance level Thor". I don't think Thor Industries as bad as some people believe...IMO

Airstreams have been WAY overpriced for years. I like the look and the concept but they are NOT worth what they ask for them.....
